Who we are
At The Flaming Dragon, we're a family-owned and operated business that started in 2024 with a passion for creating bold, flavorful hot sauces. Each batch is carefully designed and tested to deliver the ultimate flavor experience, with something for every kind of hot sauce fan—no matter the heat level. Our oldest son designs the artwork for our labels, adding a personal touch to every bottle, while our youngest son helps with the labeling process, making it truly a family affair.
We’re proud to give a portion of our sales to local non-profits that support the surrounding communities, staying rooted in our mission to give back. At The Flaming Dragon, we put family, flavor, and community at the heart of everything we do.
MEET THE OWNER
Jack Merwin, a lifelong seeker of flavor, was born, raised, and now raises his own family, in central Minnesota, among the quiet pines and wildlife. After nearly twenty years in the restaurant industry, Jack decided it was time be home in the evenings to be the best father he could be for his two boys, and his incredibly supportive (and patient!) wife over 21 years.
However, when he left the restaurant business, it created a huge chasm that sparked his need for a creative and culinary outlet to express himself. Fast forward ten years, and many hours, days and miles on the road, sampling cuisine from all over North America and the Caribbean, The Flaming Dragon was born.
When Jack is not cooking, designing labels, calculating taxes, or out on the road slinging sauce to the masses, he enjoys classic film, writing/playing music, reading, family time, and being an active member of his community through his church and other local non-profits.
